Blue-green infrastructures -Rredevelopment of the Rodano stream area, of the SAC IT4030021 "Rio Rodano, Fogliano and Ariolo fountains" ("Rio Rodano, fontanili di Fogliano e Ariolo"), of the eastern peri-urban area of Reggio Emilia and of the canals managed by the Central Emilia Land Reclamation Consortium
The project focuses on the Rodano stream and its tributary system, connecting urban and peri-urban areas by enhancing wooded riparian strips and aquatic vegetation along the waterways that lead to the stream. Interventions include de-sealing, creation of vegetated islands, and water regulation in the irrigation canals that wedge into the city.

The call for proposals
The project is one of the 20 Operations of Strategic Importance - Europe 27 Projects, funded by the call for proposals Design and construction of blue-green infrastructures in urban and peri-urban areas, with resources from the ERDF Regional Program 2021-2027, in implementation of Priority 2 - Sustainability, decarbonization, biodiversity and resilience, Specific Objective 2.7 - Strengthen nature protection and conservation, biodiversity and green infrastructure, including the one in urban areas, and reduce all forms of pollution, Action 2.7.1.
