Redevelopment project (II installment) of Botanical garden and the area of Via Filippo Re, included between the ring roads and Via Irnerio in Bologna
The project is articulated across multiple locations, which are connected: the scientific space of the Botanical garden, the Botanical park near the walls with new resilient species, the open spaces network of the Campus (paths, gardens, squares). The intervention implements its objectives through the enhancement of the arboreal and shrubby endowment (112 new trees), desealing interventions of large paved portions (-87%), sustainable mobility systems (2 bike stations) connected to public transport, and stormwater storage for irrigation (118 cubic meters).

The call for proposals
The project is one of the 20 Operations of Strategic Importance - Europe 27 Projects, funded by the call for proposals Design and construction of blue-green infrastructures in urban and peri-urban areas, with resources from the ERDF Regional Program 2021-2027, in implementation of Priority 2 - Sustainability, decarbonization, biodiversity and resilience, Specific Objective 2.7 - Strengthen nature protection and conservation, biodiversity and green infrastructure, including the one in urban areas, and reduce all forms of pollution, Action 2.7.1.
