Green redevelopment of the canal port and reconnection to the existing natural elements along the Rio Melo

The intervention consists in the renaturalization of the Rio Melo, through a public green system integrated with pedestrian and cycle paths, and in the de-sealing and planting of the banks in the urban area along Viale Bellini near the coast, also reconfiguring the slow mobility system with draining materials.

The call for proposals

The project is one of the 20 Operations of Strategic Importance - Europe 27 Projects, funded by the call for proposals Design and construction of blue-green infrastructures in urban and peri-urban areas, with resources from the ERDF Regional Program 2021-2027, in implementation of Priority 2 - Sustainability, decarbonization, biodiversity and resilience, Specific Objective 2.7 - Strengthen nature protection and conservation, biodiversity and green infrastructure, including the one in urban areas, and reduce all forms of pollution, Action 2.7.1.
