The great green horizon in the east of the city
A new equipped green area in the eastern quadrant of the city that connects the linear park of the historic walls to the Schiaccianoci Ecological Rebalancing Area. It includes the creation of accessible and semi-permeable cycle-pedestrian paths, areas dedicated to gentle use and recreation, to afforestation and safeguarding of native fauna, rain gardens, and a new pond.

The call for proposals
The project is one of the 20 Operations of Strategic Importance - Europe 27 Projects, funded by the call for proposals Design and construction of blue-green infrastructures in urban and peri-urban areas, with resources from the ERDF Regional Program 2021-2027, in implementation of Priority 2 - Sustainability, decarbonization, biodiversity and resilience, Specific Objective 2.7 - Strengthen nature protection and conservation, biodiversity and green infrastructure, including the one in urban areas, and reduce all forms of pollution, Action 2.7.1.
