Development of the Tecnopolo of Rimini: upgrading works of research infrastructures

The Rimini Technopole was inaugurated in 2017 in a wing of the former municipal slaughterhouse. The area can be expanded to grow the research infrastructure with the aim of maximizing the effectiveness of the three Interdepartmental Centers for Industrial Research (CIRI) active in Rimini: Renewable Resources, Environment, Sea and Energy (FRAME), Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), and Advanced Mechanics and Materials (MAM). These centers align with several priorities indicated by the regional Smart Specialization Strategy (S3): clean, secure, and accessible energy, circular economy, climate and natural resources, Blue growth, materials innovation, digitalization, artificial intelligence, and Big Data.

With the implementation of research laboratories and new spaces, the intention is to host the CIRI - ICT laboratories to complete research activities through digital technologies and to expand the CIRI - MAM laboratories to consolidate and expand collaborations with companies and public administrations.
