Tec.Ra 3.0 Requalification and enhancement - Expansion of the environment, energy, and sea research centre, creation of research infrastructures and energy efficiency
The proposed intervention concerns the complex of the Environment, Energy, and Sea Research Centre - CRAEM of the Ravenna Technopole. The CRAEM is located in Marina di Ravenna and is situated in an area redeveloped with European Funds from the Emilia-Romagna Region. It hosts an incubation and co-working space, in its start-up phase, and 3 laboratories, dedicated to industrial waste valorization - Fip-We@Unibo Fraunhofer Innovation Platform on Waste Valorisation and Future Energy Supply -, up-scaling of production processes and recycling of energy storage and conversion components - Enercube -, sustainable and safe production and use of hydrogen, capture, utilization, and storage of carbon dioxide - Hc-Hub-ER Hydrogen and Carbon use through Energy from Renewables.
The intervention will create:
- spaces for two new laboratories: Marine Sensorics & Robotics and Safetysensors;
- expansion of spaces for two already established laboratories;
- expansion and rationalization of common services;
- energy improvement of the entire complex.
The project continues and strengthens previous efforts for the recovery and functionalization of the Centre with the aim of reinforcing its role as a scientific and exchange hub for strategic research and technology transfer for the territory, capable of involving the productive and industrial ecosystem and stakeholders also through dissemination initiatives.

The call for proposals
The project is one of the 15 Operations of Strategic Importance - Europe 27 Projects, financed by the call for proposals for the development of the structures of the Emilia-Romagna Technopole with ERDF Regional Programme 2021-2027 resources, with the aim of implementing several actions of the Programme:
- Priority 1 - Research, innovation, competitiveness, Specific Objective 1.1 - Develop and strengthen research and innovation capabilities and improve the entry of advanced technologies, Action 1.1.4
- Priority 2 - Sustainability, decarbonisation, biodiversity, resilience
