Regional Programme 2014-2020
The ERDF ROP 2014-2020 was focused on six main priorities (axes), plus the technical assistance, that reflected the thematic goals for implementing the Europe 2020 Strategy and the European regional policy priorities.
The resources, totalling 481,895,272 euro, together with those allocated by other European, national and regional programmes, have been earmarked for the creation of a region being:
- more inclusive, promoting a high employment rate that fosters social and territorial cohesion;
- more dynamic and intelligent, developing an economy based on knowledge, creativity and innovation;
- more sustainable, developing a more resource-efficient, greener and more competitive economy.

Funding the fight against Covid 19-related healthcare emergency
In response to the Covid-19 emergency, the Programme has been modified reprogramming 190 million euro to support companies and entities of the regional health service. An intervention that helped fight the emergency but also provided continuation of projects financed by ERDF ROP 2014-2020 under another source of funding, the National Fund for Development and Cohesion.
Communication
As to Programme results, communication campaigns based on video and other audiovisual material contests have been successful in demonstrating projects featuring beneficiaries and their project story as testimonials of Europe in Emilia-Romagna.
